Different Pricing for Associated Products

Hi ppl,
Im stuck on an issue wondering if anyone can help me with this

In my catalogue i have a product which sells for e.g. £30.
Within my catalogue i than have another section which i want that same product to be placed in but with a different price e.g. £15 instead of £30. (reason for lower price is because item is being bought as a bundle)
I have attempted to used 'associated product' function but this doesn't seem to allow me to control the price. (it is greyed out).

Can anyone help me with this please - would be much appreciated.

Hi nadeemx,

If ur using version 4 of actinic, u can just create a new product to set a different price for it, so u will have 2 different products, with the same product name but the reference will be the unique identifier. This way u can change the price field for each product. You don't need to use 'associated product' function.

In v4 of Actinic you can use the association to the same product, select 'Override Price' on the component and enter the price you want to charge. This should work just fine for you, it is only with later versions that you can use the associated products price etc,.

Thank you for your reply, I now have a further query still associated with the topic.
If i have a product titled e.g. Virus Software - which has 3 choices and i give each choice a different price - by use of a component e.g choice 1 = 10 choice 2 = 20 etc.
If i than want to have that product with those choices - in another section within the catalogue - at different prices (as they are being bought as a bundle) how would i do this?

My understanding is 'associated products' work on a simple 1:1 relationship, if i therefore use a 1:3 relationship - it can no longer carry out the function.

My only option therefore is to recreate the same product within the desired section - however does this not raise issue of data duplication and issue of inconsistent stock levels?

Any assitance would be much appreciated.

You have got it quite right there !!

Recreating the same product within the desired section will create a unique reference number for the product, there will be no Data duplication, but you will have to manage the stock levels for each product individually depending on the individual Product reference and obviously the special prices you attacht o them depending on the bundle. Hope this makes sense.
