Removing menu icons from bottom of pages

Is there a way that I can only show the menu icons at the top of the pages, and not at both the top & bottom?

What I've already done from the Design Options dialog in the group box "Default Location and Arrangement of Section Lists", is selected the "Top" radio button.

This still doesn't seem to be the right place for what I want to achieve. I've attached a screen shot of the options selected so far.

    Can anyone help?

    Dalia.

Open your template (probably Act_Primary.html if you are talking about shop pages) and look for NETQUOTEVAR:FOOTERGUIDE near the bottom of the template. Change that to <!-- NETQUOTEVAR:FOOTERGUIDE --> and you will be fine. The settings you have been changing are for the links to the shopping pages and have no eefect on the menu links.

Thanks, I found the template but didn't find it exactly as u mentioned. Instead, I found:

      NETQUOTEVAR:FOOTER

and then a few rows below I found:

      NETQUOTEVAR:FOOTERMETA

Which one should I be commenting out?

        Hi again,

I just went ahead and commented out both instances of NETQUOTEVAR:FOOTER and NETQUOTEVAR:FOOTERMETA, and this has removed the menu icons from the bottom of the pages. However, now I'm noticing that some pages, like the 'Order' page doesn't even have the menu icons in the header section. How can this be changed to persist across all pages?

Sorry Dalia, I keep forgetting you are on v4.

I would have commented them out one at a time, just in case one of them affects something other than the menu.

For the order page(s) in v7 I would look at Act_PrimaryCheckout.html - do you have this template in v4?

            Hi,

I don't have the template "Act_PrimaryCheckout.html" in v4 and I can't find anything else that would be similar to it either. Would there be any other template I can have a look at?

With regards to the footer icons, I'll comment out each instance of the NETQUOTEVAR:FOOTER and NETQUOTEVAR:FOOTERMETA separately in the "Act_Primary.html" template to see if this will bring back the icons in the header section.

            Grateful for ur help,

            Dalia.

Unfortunately, v4 is very restrictive about what variables will work where.

Basically, the 'FOOTERGUIDE' will appear on every page (other than the checkout), but the 'HEADERGUIDE' is automatically stripped out of certain pages (e.g. the 'Search' page). The reason for this behaviour is lost in the midst of time.

THe only way to get a look like you need is to consider upgrading to v7 (and this isn't just me trying to sell upgrades )

Thanks for confirming what I suspected.

My company has been considering the upgrade, so let's hope it goes through!

                Cheers,

                Dalia.
