SSL Redirect Page

Has anyone managed to find a way of getting around the page redirect option when putting your credit card details into actinic ?

It seems as though customers leave at that point of the order, could that be because they are suspicous of the forwarding page ? Is there a way of coding that secure payment into actinic, or rather having a redirect without the page coming up asking you to click through to the secure server ?

A redirect to a secure server is fine, i would just like to ideally cut out the page asking you to click next to go to the secure server ?

Hi Shannon

You can modify the bounce delay for this page, or stop the bounce completely so customers get the time to read and understand where they are being sent.
This bounce is needed as it displays information for e.g, if SSL is in Test mode,etc and also informs the customers about the destination. If there was no bounce page, they might feel insecure about being shown the credit card details page immediately after selecting the payment method, without being intimated about where this page is held.

There are however options to customise the bounce page and/or the bounce message itself. You can also increase or completely stop the bounce so the customer is allowed to read the information at their leisure and then proceed.

1. To modify the bounce delay : go to Design | Text | ID:2079, right click on the text in the RH side and select Zoom. Here you will find a line :
document.%s.submit();

Change this as follows :
setTimeout("document.%s.submit()", 10000)
where, 10000 = 10 seconds and so on

2. To stop the bounce and allow customer to click manually and proceed, change the above line as :
//document.%s.submit(); - i.e, insert // before the default line

3. To alter the bounce page text, go to C:\ProgramFiles\ActinicV7\Sites\Site1 (or equivalent folder) and find the file Act_SharedSSLBouncePage.html. You can edit the text here. Additionally, you might also be interested in popping in a Shared SSL logo, which you can get from here :

Still Not Quite There Yet - SSL Redirect

We've been playing around with this code, not quite right though.. Here's the code i've bben using :

The timeout doesn't work though ? Anybody got any ideas...?

I tried this code my end before posting and the timeout worked OK. I tried changing it to 1000, 5000 and so on, and it worked each time. Does the bounce completely stop on your site or does it not adhere to the time delay at all ?

It stops entirely, there is no timeout at all. You have to manually click next. Doesn't make sense ?

Just checked the source code of the bounce page and came across something.

The source code for your website shows :

whereas, the one on mine shows :

<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">

function onLoad()
{

setTimeout("document.formSSL.submit()", 1000)
}
// -->
</SCRIPT>

Notice the extra code missing in the first set. Have you tried completely refreshing the site after applying the changes? If yes and no joy, try a Website Purge and refresh from Help | Troubleshooting.
Note : If you have made any changes to any of the perl files, I recommend backing them up first.

This is indeed odd Shannon. The code is now updated in the source, but the bounce still does not happen.

As a last resort (before I request your snapshot), could you try replacing the Act_SharedSSLBouncePage.html from C:\ProgramFiles\ActinicV7\Formats\Themes\Business or BusinessCSS (depending on whether your site uses a CSS or non-CSS based theme).
Update the site and try again.

The issue is now sorted. For the information of other customers who might come across this issue,the problem was the missing OnLoad="NETQUOTEVAR:ONLOAD" in the <BODY> tag in Act_Primary.html (in this case the same template was being used for the checkout pages too).
Re-instating this made the bounce work.
