    Shopping Cart expired problem

a few of my customers have emailed me with this problem. this is the email from one of them. Can anyone help.

I tried last weekend and having added 30 or so items over 30-40 mins went to
    checkout and failed.
I have tried again tonight adding only 2 items within 3minutes and I get the
    error message:

Error: Your shopping cart has expired, orders must be completed within 3
hours or they will be automatically cancelled.

Your server clock looks right so the problem is most likely to be that you have too short a time set up under 'web> configure expiry periods' or that the customer has got their clock set to the wrong time zone (it should be set to GMT if they're in the UK).

There is an outside chance that this is caused by an ISP connection falling over and the reconnection getting a different IP address which does not match the cookie saved by Actinic. Can happen with a 'noisy' phone line.

Can you look at your modem/router log for the time when it happened to you?

Mike's solution of increasing the cookie timeout to (24 hours?) should resolve most other causes of this error.
