New poster - need help with Shipping costs

I have just activated my online store at www.bowstock.co.uk and am very pleased with the Actinic Catalog software Version 7.0.2.0.0.0 ECLA.
I am offering purchasers multiple options for postage, which is auto calculated by the cart software based on product weights.
I want to be able to force buyers to use Recorded Delivery if items have a value of more than £10. Is this possible?
I have average ability with programming (set the store & web site up myself).
    Thanks

This is one for the wish list I am afraid, as you cannot ship by weight and Value, it is an either/ or option. To force the choice of Recorded Delivery on values excessive of £10.00 you will have to ship by value, where you can set up the standard charge to a highest of £9.99 for Example and then Start of the Recorded Delivery table at £10.00.

I will add your vote to the list.

    Kind regards,

      Thanks Bruce.
After reading more threads I am thinking of trying to add a new product that is called 'Recorded Delivery Surcharge' and attaching it to the higher value products or shopping basket in some way so that it must be selected if the shopping basket value exceeds £10.
The long winter evenings just fly by........

If you're thinking of adding a postage surcharge as a product then you can add a component.

Hide the extra postage product and then link the component to the hidden product.
Then you have the choice at your end to make it compulsory or optional.

Set the pricing model to Sum of product and components.

        That should do it.

          Thanks Duncan,
I hadn't thought of that but will give it a go.
