stolen laptop with actinic on help

Hi, i have had a laptop stolen from the back of a city link van, it was being repaired by the manufacturer ACER, and was nicked on its way back to me.
The laptop was running v6 and is hosted on 4sure techno web.
I have changed passwords with 4sure.
The backup copy of actinic is now on anothe pc i have, the problem i have is that actinic is downloading orders ok although i have changed the hosting password, in network settings if i run a test it tells me it carnt conect to the host as the pasword is wrong, but it does still download orders.
I dont whant some thief downloading all my orders.
How can i secure this.

I would have a chat with TechnoWeb.

If the password is changed then no-one should be able to connect using the old pw.

But to put your mind at rest I would get o nthe phone to TW and talk through network settings

Hi, i have just spoken to techno web, they were very helpful, i have changed all passwords and refreshed site. I wasnt aware though that actinic downloads orders even if you change your hosting password, you need to change the security number.

Me again, what a day.
Acer who make laptops etc have been giving me the run around, we had serveral thousand customer details in the laptop that got stolen, although it is password protected etc it is not good. It was pinced last Friday and I only found out today when I rang them to find out why it had not come back to me as arranged last friday. Anyway, they couldnt care less and tell em they carnt do anything for 7-10 days. I told them what i though of that and have taken the matter up with their head office.

Yes it is strange how actinic only uses the hosting password for uploads and not for downloads, i doubled checked this myself by changing my hosting password with 4sure but not changing it in actinic. Actinic would not upload any changes but gladly downloaded some test orders i put through.
Bit of a secuirty isse there i think.

Hello

Orders are downloaded via http rather than ftp - so they can still come down if you have changed your FTP password.

The security details must be the same on the download PC as on the site in order to be able to decrypt them - but I guess with the issue of your stolen laptop that's no help.

I'll mention this to the development team and see what they suggest.
