    Image Associated to Choice

    ...is there any way to make the image shown change as a user selects a 'choice' from the shop?

    Example VASE select COLOUR from Red : Blue : Green where if red is the default the red vase is shown but if user selects blue from the choices drop down the image rotates to show the blue (associated) image before adding to cart.

    I'm sure this must be possible as it is fairly standard.

      Thanks have installed and it is working, appreciated...

      Any idea as to why the text between component and attribute is seperated by a new paragraph, even though my seperator is defined as space?

      Only one product added to the image system - this is a test bed for things I play with but you can see it working here, note the gap between "Select" and "Colour" as though it is displaying the HTML literaly.

        If you look at the underlying code the "Select" is surrounded by <P> </P> tags this causes the line break.

        The template is VariantAttributeName HTML
        But as you say if you have defined the separator as space the resultant code shouldn't be <P> tags

          Thanks, that template doesn't have any <P> tags but rather has <span> tags...

            You should set the product image to be the same as the first choice (or a generic image). Otherwise customers won't see anything large until they click a Choice.

            Don't forget this is "Donationware" - having had a look at your shop it'll be interesting to see what turns up ;-)

                          Assume you got the lovely donation I sent CityLink with to your office Norman...

                          Question : Now that I have installed this mod the prices of the products are no longer shown as they are based upon the components, the cart shows them but I feel that the customer will want to know how much the item costs on the first page...

                          Any ideas?

                          I'm still playing with this but have to say that this is a highly effective mod Norman, good job, well done, all that kinda stuff!

                            Wowza. Yes. a "plain brown box" arrived containing a whole pile of goodies. Including 2 bags of NOBBY'S NUTS. Yum.. The inflatable sheep is particularly nice ;-)

                            The prices not showing aren't to do with the patch but are because the main item has (I assume) £0 as the price. If these items are all the same price, then you don't need a Component. Just restore tha main price and have a Colour Attribute and some Choices.

                            If the price really does change with the colour, then you'll have to include it in the HTML for Name field of the choice. E.g.

                            Blue £15.50 {05105.jpg}
                            Candy Rose £17.50 {05131.jpg}

                            The other way to deal with these cases is to set the main product Price to the lowest cost option, set the pricing model to sum of product and component prices and add a bit in the Permutation for the extra cost options. Again for clarity you need to show the extra charge as part of the Choice HTML for Name.

                              Couple of questions, firstly about the attribute with a choice;

                              I can't see any way to have each choice relate to a unique product code for true stock control unless as we do now you set a component up above the attribute with choice and then fill the permutations list to relate unique products. Am I missing something...?

                              Secondly this mod Norman for the images;

                              I know you said that this is designed for a radio button style but for some of my products there are quite a few choices, thus the thumbnails snake way down the page past the product description so a drop down would be preferable. Having tried this some of the dropdowns cause the script to behave normally and it is actually quite good, using the mouse wheel you can spin through all the choices and see the image change... however other products do not behave properly and the {image.jpg} tag of the HTML is viewable in the choice dropdown menu, the images no longer rotate. At an early glance it would appear that the first product with dropdown works but all others on that page (below) do not function.

                              Any suggestions appreciated and thanks...
