    Two flat rate shipping charges

    Hi,

I wish to have two flat rate shipping charges in my store. One at £30 for bodykits and another at £8.95 for everything else. How would I go about setting this up in Actinic ?

    Thanks in advance,

ship by weight if an item <1 it costs £8.95, if its =>1 its £30

assign a weight to one of the sets of products.

ie set all bodtkits to have a weight of > 1

don't forget to also tick the "take highest value in table" just beneath the shipping table

        "take highest value in table"
What does that do exactly ?

          Hi Tom

The "Take the highest value in the table" option is useful where the total weight/value/quantity of items ordered exceeds the highest defined limit in a given table. By selecting this option, Actinic allows the order to go through by applying the highest shipping charge available in the shipping tables.

          Hope this helps.

If you think you will only sell one body kit per customer you could just charge £8.95 per order. Just add the extra £21.05 (£30.00 - £8.95) to the price of a body kit.

You might want to state that the extra shipping is included in the price so if some one wants to come and collect it they will get a discount.

thats the way we do it on our site.

Depending on the product adding your shipping cost into the product cost can be a marketing and back-office nightmare. So long as you are upfront about your shipping costs (dont charge someone £500.00 to deliver a hat pin at the last moments during check-out) it is generally best practice to show the lowest price possible against the product - this is particularly important if you submit to shopping sites etc where the user can set to display searches by cheapest first and you may never be found.
