Testing Payments

Paypal are taking a while to get back to me on this question so I thought I'd ask here to see if anybody can help me quicker!

I've finished my shop and in Business Settings I have my only payment method as Paypal Website Payments. I've clicked on configure and entered my email address associated with my merchant account.

How do I test that my payments are working with Paypal before I make my site live to the public ??

I created a test product that was cheap and bought it myself. I then knew that both the customer and merchant end was working ok.
You only loose the Paypal commission on the sale.

That's what I'm hoping but I may just have to test the 'buy a test product option'.

Turns out they have something called the Paypal Sandbox where you can test your payment out without it actually being live. So I'll try that out. If anyone wants to know how it goes or anything else just drop me an e-mail.

On any PayPal page click on 'Developer' and sign up to their Developer agreement (FREE).

You will then have access to Sandbox and lots of other information for developers.

How do you get your Actinic site to send you to the Paypal sandbox and not the live payment site?
