Previous/Next Link from 3rd level to 1st level

Hi,

I have many products on my website, so i decided to break them up into sections, each section contain 25 subsections, which in turn contain the products for more details [as per Advance User Guide page 24 - Creating a Page of Thumbnail Section Links].

So currently it look like:
Page 1 Overview -> Product Thumbnails -> Product with details
(Section - Subsection - Product)

However if a customer were to be at Page 1, 25th Product with details (last product on Page 1), the sibling links end there. Im afraid it may caused the customer to think the products ended, when in actual, there's 26th product but on Page 2.

So i was thinking is there a way to have a hyperlink on the last product of every page, linking back to the 1st level but to the next section?
Eg. Page 1, Product 25 details to Page 2 Overview.

Hope i am clear about what im trying to do

How about putting a fragment at the end of the sections with a link or some descriptive text so the customer will know there are other products available in other sections.

Hi,

i had thought of that but would have to add to every last product of the page. But if any of the products before the last one or the last product were to be out of stock, have to move those below up or from the next page to fill the empty spaces. Moving of the products around the sections is inevitable.

Would be better if the links were dynamically generated
im doing up the website, future maintainenance will not be done by me.

but not sure where and how to input them.

I have an add-on patch that displays a list of same-level sections anywehre on the page (so you could put it at the top and bottom of your products). Here's a note from the readme.

Displaying a clickable list of same level sections on a Product Page (V1.02)

E.g. somewhere on the page you can have:

Pages: 1 - [2] - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8.

where the current page is marked in [bold].

You can set a limit that will stop this list from being displayed unless there are
at least a certain number of sibling sections.

You can optionally show the page names instead of their sequence e.g.

Pages: BLUE SHOE - [CINNAMON] - CLOSET - ELISE RYAN - FOLIA - KIOSK - LACEYS - LOVE UK

Note that this will only work on live sites, not on Preview pages.
On Preview pages some demo text will be shown "Pages: 1 - [2] - 3"
so you can fine tune the layout.

This is a paid-for patch so you'll have to contact me if interested.
