    Display shipping charges in basket

Please help me! I am trying to display the shipping charges in the basket before the customer goes to the checkout. I have one shipping zone - the uk which has one class postage and packing this is defined by weight 9999 and 1000 i.e under 9999 is one cost ond over 10k is another. This allows me to give a p&p charge for orders and apply a single order heavy item charge if the customer orders an item that has to be sent by courier. When I first go into the website (still on trial site at moment) it displays in basket but if I then remove a product and/or select another it is no longer there?

How do I make it work so it stays in the basket all the time and updates as the customer updates the basket?

Also as an aside is it possible to remove the whole select a country situation in the basket?

    Many thanks Donna

    Hi Donna,

You could try using 'Request Location Information Early' in 'View | Business Settings | Ordering' tab (be aware that this will only be available if your shopping mode is set to 'Quantity on confirmation page' for all sections).

You can only remove this if you are using 'Simple Tax' and/or 'Simple Shipping' or if you use the 'Request Location Information Early' option. However you can just change the 'heading' from 'Select Shipping Destination' to just 'Shipping Destination' by going to 'Design | Text' and click on the 'Go To' button at the bottom left corner of this window. Type 171 in the 'ID' field and click 'OK' to take you to the prompt.

    I hope this helps.

Hi Donna and Tracey - I've used a trick to remove the country drop down whilst not using simple shipping or early location - don't ask me how or why it works - it was mentioned in an earlier post:

Define just one location in each shipping class (eg United Kingdom), then go into Advanced | Locations and delete the "none of the above" line which you will find by scrolling down to the bottom. Upload - should work!
