    Structure for an excel import

I want to import data from an Excel file but I am having a bit of trouble working out from the help files how exactly to structure my Excel file for what I'm trying to do.

Would it possible for someone to tell me if what I want to do (below) is possible and secondly, if it is, what column headers I'll need in Excel to do it ?

I need a Section called Bodykits
In this section I will need multiple Products e.g. Alfa 147 Agressor Kit
Each product doesn't have a price, instead it has a Component which contains an Attribute 'Part' which in turn has a number of Choices e.g. Front Bumper, Spoiler, Full Kit.
Currently, I then do a 'Fill List' on the Component and fill in a price for each one.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me with this - it would save a lot of time

Easiest way is to create a couple of sections and products of the types you want to import then export that file. You can then create a file to import containing the rest of your data based on the same structure.

The format can be a bit confusing at first but after looking through it carefully you'll see it's not so difficult.

Remember to take a database backup before importing - just in case!

The only way to do what you want is vie an "Hierarchical Import". This is not a simple flat file (every record has same number of fields) that you would normally produce with Excel.

Once you've done Duncan's suggestion you'll see what needs done.
