Login page not picking up actinic links!

Help again!

My login page uses the act_primaryalt template - on which some links are coded as per below

<a href="NETQUOTEVAR:NAVBHOMELINK" class="btn">Home</a><br>

however none of these work on the login page only handocded links are picked up.

Why aren't these working? and is there a way to change the template the login page picks up if I have to handcoded all of these in?

Sorted again - links have to be handcoded into the login page using exact url's (actnic doesn't like actinic links here). I can change the template using design>options>layouts (think my brain was switched off on that one!!)
