    free shipping?

We have set up a product on our shop that is free so thatwhen they buy it, we will download the order and use that as a registration system.

Now we have a small prob in that because we have set no price on the item, it is throwing up the error message

Your order has exceeded the shipping tables defined by the supplier, therefore it is not possible to calculate the shipping cost. Please contact the supplier with this information as they will be happy to process your order and will then be able to correct the shipping tables.
Now we have got it set up that we will only ship to the uk and have 2 shipping bands, anything up to £20 is charged £3.90 and anything over is charged £5.50 which works fine when there is a price on the shop. Ive tried setting another band up as £0 costs £0 to ship and also £0.01 cost £0 to ship but it doesnt seem to work.

Is there anyway to exclude 1 item from the general shipping rule?

    Any help/advice is welcome.

    Thanks

    Martin

The only way to do it would be to ship by weight, where you can assign a 0 weight to the free product and declare the 0 weight at 0 price in the shipping tables.

        Hi

when i tried that, when i tried to buy a product it said the following

Select Shipping Destination - Your order has exceeded the shipping tables defined by the supplier, therefore it is not possible to calculate the shipping cost. Please contact the supplier with this information as they will be happy to process your order and will then be able to correct the shipping tables.

i set shiupping to be buy weight, set the weight as 0 with a cost of 0 and then set that if shipping is undefined, use default charge of £5.10

        any other ideas?

Did you assign a weight of 0.00 for the product? If you do not it will not work.

          Kind regards,

In The shipping and Handling tab, set a default weight of 0.25 and then create another row for the shipping band that says 0.25 = 5.10 and under excess, select take highest value in table.

              Kind regards,
