Divide site into 3 or more sections

Is it possible to break the site down into 3 or more sections for a large store.

Thinking along the lines of say a supermarket where you have household goods, Grocery, Dairy and Meats.

    Therefore household goods would have

    Household goods
    Washing Powders
    Automatic machines
    Daz etc.

Can this be done with ver6 Catalogue or do you need developer

Present system would soon overload the page if you tried to do it. also different sections might have different tax and shipping charges etc.

I have to say I'm not familiar with Catalog, but from the perspective of Developer this would be easy and straight forward stuff.

If you looking at expanding your store it sounds like developer would be the answer.

Take a look at my site at http://www.simplysuperbgifts.com it is split into different 'collections' of products. Sounds like this is what you want to achieve. It is standard on most versions of Actinic Catalog. Mine is on V5 at present but I am shortly updating to V6.

Actinic has the ability to use different Overall Layout templates for different sections in the store. Try changing themes to something like 'Layout06' and then select different overall layouts for differnet sections of the store (the Overall Layout template is selected within the 'Layout' tab of a section). You could extend this to have different coloured branding for different sections in the online store.

also different sections might have different tax and shipping charges etc.

This is the killer as far as Actinic is concerned. You can only have one shipping calculation method and one tax calculation method per online store.

        Hope this helps.

Your site looks great and is what I am looking to be able to do.

Question is how did you do it.
