Gift Vouchers - The Redemption Begins!

Hi all

Last year we finally cracked a workable solution to selling gift vouchers online (after cracking our heads against brick walls many times!).

Now customers are starting to place orders to use their gift vouchers. Despite full instructions on how to use gift vouchers actually printed on the voucher, you know what people are like!

We're using business v.7 and this confuses the issue by having the "coupon" box displayed on check out - and of course customers keep entering their gift voucher code there and it don't work (and nor should it).

So question is - can I stop the coupon code box showing EXCEPT for registered customers who are logged on (who BTW would be the only people we would want to give coupon discounts to for entering online anyway - surely that's one of the enticements to get customers to register?!).

That should be possible fairly easily on v7. If you create a coupon code for a discount, then you can restrict it to a customer group, click on the 'Restrictions' tab and select 'Restricted to Customer Group' and use the drop down to select the customer group other than 'Retail'. Click on apply and update the site. You will have to do this for any and all Coupon code discounts you have set up.

You can also restrict as to where you want the Coupon Code redemtion box to occur by selecting either 'Store Pages', 'Shopping Cart' or 'Checkout', this can be done at View | Discount and Surcharge Settings | Miscellaneous .
