    Shipping costs

    Hi,

Please can someone help me? my client has sent me this mission below and im not sure how to do it.

    -----------------------------------------------------

    Shipping costs

There is a flat fee on shipping costs of £8.50 up to £300 when it is waived. The only products excluded from this are lead weights and friction stays because they are particularly heavy.

Is there a way to set this up on the website? Can we give weights for the excluded items and when the weight exceeds 0 there is a charge based price per kilo?

    -----------------------------------------------------

If anyone could help that would be great.

    Thank you in advance.

In theory weight based shipping with a weight of 0 on all standard product and a first weight band charge of 8.50 should take care of them and subsequent weight bands with pricing to accommodate the excluded items with an actual weight on those items will handle the shipping on the heavy items, but you will not be able to set the 'free over 300' and not have it apply to the heavy items when their value reaches 300 also.

If the client has business or developer, you can create product groups and give a rebate(discount) of 8.50 on the standard products when the cost exceeds 300.

If they have catalog, then I can't think of a workaround at the moment.
