    CGI Timeout Problem

    www.fatbobspaintball.co.uk

Catalogue works fine, customers can add to cart and go to checkout and fill in all details.

When you try to click the next button for credit card payments (connect to actinic ssl) it says CGI timeout.

    Anyone got any ideas

    thanks

    Wierd.

You could contact your web host and ask them to increase the time allotted to Perl processes. The CGI-timeout does seem to come very quickly.

My live site had this today (when I was at the customers site..ahhhh) and I have just seen that fatbobspaintball.co.uk have the same servers. My timeout has rectified itself tonight!

Have been playing computer tennis all day with Actinic and Fasthosts.

Both insisting nothing was wrong with either servers.

Changed the way card info was captured to the Java Applet and still the same problem meaning it must be something to do with the fasthosts server.

Last spoke to Fasthosts this evening 6:00pm who said they would have an engineer working on the problem.

Hopefully will have some kind of result tommorow, it's costing thousands in lost business as we speak.

When you say the same servers do you mean Actinic SSl server or Fasthosts Server

          thanks

It was your dns names that I looked at so it was on Fasthosts.

Everything seem so be sorted now. Apparently it is a know issue (depends to which tech support person you talk to) with Actinic.

Fasthosts lengthened the time for the script to run, then reduced it down again.

They say that it happens quite a lot and this will cure the problem for a time, could never happen again or could happen every day.

              So there you go.

Lesson learnt is to have a second site ready

              Thanks for all your help
