Optimal Package Weight

Can anyone tell me what effect this field has in shipping? Cheers

Hi Owen,

The optimal field sets a limit at which your shipping is broken down into multiple packages. Say your courier has a max parcel weight of 30kg for a particular class of service, you would set that 30kg (or 25kg if you are not sure your weights are accurate) and when someone buys more than that, Actinic will process it as two packages (one at the 25/30kg weight and one at the balance - I would hope it is clever enough to know that if the total weight is 32kg and one item weighs 5kg, that would be the one to slide off, but I have not had occasion to try it.
