Sort of.

I would like it if, when you select to add an option it changes the price on screen rather than saying "+£40" etc

You may want to take a look at http://www.drillpine.biz/ check out the 'Actinic Stuff' section as Norman may have something that will work for you. Actinic will not be able to do this for you automatically as it requires adding to cart for the actual price calculation to display, but this will not happen on the product level. You will need a bit of javascript to be able to do that for you. Check out the site and see if you can find something that helps.
