Can anyone recommend wheter to use isp smtp or domain name mail server setting in the network settings. I am using developer 7.0.5 for digital downloads and mail order.

    Would normally suggest using

    locahost

which is the server side of things.

Would not think you could use the ISP smtp server, unless your ISP is also your host, but then you might need to ensure they use SMTP Auth and not connection authentication for the SMTP you use when connected to the Internet with them.

I would try the localhost first to see if that works.

Always use domain provided mail services - there is no way your Actinic shop can connect to the isp service - unless the host is also the isp.

Try the official smtp server name, (If authenticated add user id, password combination) first - it is more secure. Use localhost if you cannot get the specified server name to work.

Many ISP's will not allow relaying of emails (in an attempt to reduce spam) so confirmation emails may not be generated - go with the advice above and all should be fine
