Adding in a required custom field

Good morning all,

I need thoughts on how to tackle this one - I am developing a small site for a client, who has requested a mandatory field on the order page for the customer to enter details, as well as a bit of explanatory text. Ideally they would like this just above the 'Shipping and Handling' section. I'm having a wee trawl through the forums atm and it seems to be a script change...?

Ok, I'm half way there, using one of the user-definable fields in Deign>Text>web Site(cont.).

Next question though, how can I add a piece of text underneath this new field?

Now this depends on the page you are using the field on as you will have to hard code it into the template, the checkout pages are Act_Order00.html to Act_Order04.html.
