Shipping Defaults

We are shipping by weight across a number of different geographical zone. Each zone has 2 classes: Regular and Express.

What I want to do is set the default shipping option to Express for all orders under 3kg, whilst above 3kg the default is to be via Regular Shipping.

Is this possible and how would I do it?

In Business Settings/Shipping and Handling, you can set it up so the class Express is set to 3kg (or 2.99) and Regular is set to 3 or 3.01. To set various prices based on weight you can set them in increments (3.00, 3.50 etc..).

I understand what you are saying Allain. But what I want to do is a little different and I don't think it can be done.

I want people to use Express Post for all orders under 3kg, even though I want to give them the option to use Regular delivery which is cheaper. Above 3kg Express becomes very expensive so I want to have the default set to Regular but still give the people an Express option.

Can someone confirm if this can or cannot be done?
