    Shipping to Unlisted Countries

How do I add a "None of the Above" item to the list of countries in the Check Out process?

When the error message appears when a customer tries to order from an unlisted country is it possible to have a way for the customer to be able to email through the contents of the shopping cart to obtain a freight quote via email. Or must the customers manually enter the cart contents into an email message?

In: advanced / locations, there is already an option for "none of the above" so if you're using zones in: business settings / shipping & handling, I think you can just add it as an additional zone by right clicking. I think though that by doing it this way, it would become a listed country and they will be able to place an order without the need to contact you. Not sure.

Something that may work probably isn't the best solution at all : within Business Settings / payment & security - I've used the cash/cheque on delivery option and given a web site description of "print order form to send with payment". When a customer places an order, it doesn't go through to a PSP but an e-mail still comes to me.

You could use this and change the wording to "print order form and request a shipping quote". That way, a customer could still present you with an order and you'll know from the payment type that they require a quote from you.

The only problem with that though is that if they then wish to proceed with an online transaction (using a PSP) I would imagine that they might have to re-key their order so that it can be paid for including shipping costs (which can be set for shopper editable).

There must be lots of better ways though.

      Thanks Sonia,

I can see it in the Advanced|Locations but when I go to Shipping Bands in Business Settings|Shipping & Handling its not listed.

You need to set the 'If Shipping Band Not Defined' option in 'Business Settings | Shipping and Handling' to 'Use Default Charge' in order to get 'None of the above' appearing in the drop-down lists.

This will then apply a default shipping charge to the order - but I'm afraid I don't know to do the 'email a quote' option that you are talking about.
