Hi
I wrote a couple of weeks ago about some probs I've been having with Actinic.
The first - that Actinic has suddenly stopped sending us email confirmation of orders hasn't been resolved, so I'd love some more help on that if possible.
The second - that Actinic was replacing existing files with older versions - has been resolved in a very horrible way.
Actinic created *.html files in the site folder.
I altered "files" in the content tree and uploaded via actinic.
The web server displayed the files that actinic had created, not the new information.
It took ages to figure out what was happening, that these files existed in the site folder, and they were overriding any changes I made. It wasn't all the products, just some. It wasn't all the brochure pages, just some. I had to manually delete all the extra *.html files (being careful not to delete the ones Actinic actually meant to create), and reupload. However, that wasn't the end! Some files weren't there as *.html files, so I had to delete the items in the content tree, upload, undelete and reupload. I hope I've caught them all now, but with 600 prodcuts and many brochure pages, the only wan I know is by looking at each page.
I'd like to know the following:
Is this is a common thing that Actinic does?
How I can stop it happening again.
Why does it do it?
Is there something else I could have done instead of faffing with deleting/undeleting chunks of the web site?
Is there an accurate non-manual way of me knowing that my web site is now correct?
Has this got anything to do with the email notification being broken (they happened at the same time).
Thanks in advance
Love
Val
