Bill, What you are saying is what I was trying to explain - obviously not very well. I was not advocating submitting to a non relivant category just that there may be another suitable that will be just as good as you say.

I mentioned to look for editors because i have found that if I submit a site to a category with no editor it takes alot longer to get a listing. Obviously if you are not concerned about how long it will take or if you are ever listed then that does not matter. I was only passing on my experiences.

Thanks for all the various bits and pieces about dmoz I'll follow some of the suggestions, but this still leaves me with the google problem.

I used a prgram to make a sitemap which it did no problem and I submitted it to google but they STILL only have 2 pages listed. All the other search egines are fine>

Google will only index sites, and pages within those sites, that it believes to be important. The first thing you need is links from other sites such as dmoz and other directories.

Get some more links and Google will probably index the site properly. Don't go for too many links as then you could end up in the sandbox. Something like 5-10 links should be fine.

The forum is here to help each other, and many contribute like Jont and Norman with great advice and proof of concept if required, from steve all we get is "I am the greatest" but I will not prove it to you lowely sods

Steve,please dont bother to pull my sites down, as I now they are poor in many area's, but I am working on them and they do give me a living. Just tell us the sites and keywords and we will bow down in respect if you are as good as your mouth
