CSS Styles and Upsell Info

Greetings Everyone

Just a quick question??

Has anyone succeded in using Normans Upsell Actinic Bolt On Software with css style sheets ? I am putting in all the code needed into Actprimary etc.. but then when i go back into the Actinic software to change something i get an error asking if i want to run scripts on the page ?

If you're only seeing this message when doing Previews, then this is simply Windows security being a bit paranoid.

This message won't appear on a live site, only on pages on your local hard disk containing JavaScript. This behaviour started with XP service pack 2 and is designed to make it difficult for someone to download and then run active content (likeJavaScript).

I've managed to get your upsell software working, which i must top notch to you & will be definately buying the full package when i've got the hang of it. Question though, the outer box around the products, is there anyway of changing the colour of it ?

Yes. Two Custom properties contain this (depending on whether the box is to the right or below)

UPSELLVERTICALBORDER	padding:5px; border-style:solid; border-width:1; border-color:#99ccff;
UPSELLHORIZONTALBORDER	border-style: solid; border-width:1; border-color:#99ccff;

Just go to Design / Options / Site Defaults and change the #99ccff as appropriate.

A Litle Help

Sorry to be a pain again Norman, i'm succeding in changing the colours & very happy with all the results on the upsell program. Just one thing though, when the ActProductBody.html template changed i can't understand why its underlining my text on my headings for some reason. Any Ideas ?

I don't know what's causing that. Never seen this before. It doesn't appear on Firefox. Thus looks likely to be some invalid HTML or style definitions.

It seems to be coming from this line in your custom stylesheet screen.css.

#container #main #content A {
FONT-WEIGHT: bold; TEXT-DECORATION: underline
}

Looking further it seems like that some code in Act_ProductBody.html is conflicting with your screen.css. ProductBody uses two target type anchors

And your CSS will affect anything between the <a..> and the </a>. And that's where your Section Lists are located. Nothing to do with the Upsell patch.

Post your Act_ProductBody.html here (inside [c o d e] and [/ c o d e] tags) if you can't fix it.

To be honest though, i don't understand how he fixed it, maybe you could shed some light ? As you know i'm more than happy with the software except for this one niggly glitch. So if you have any ideas ? They would be welcome.. If not i'll carry on scratching round to find a solution & let you know...

Html Preview Within Actinic Program

Hi Norman

I have a problem with previewing the actual html pages within actinic program itself.Every time i click on a product or a section a pop up appears which then asks me if i want to run javascript on the page. It then goes onto tell me there is a problem with the code & points out in what line it is. The problem there is every time you click on a new product or section from the one you have just fixed the problem, the code changes. Stuck in a loop pretty much. I do use a css style sheet in the website design, would this affect anything ?

The message you receive means that you have got an error with the Javascript on your page.

The best thing to do is to preview the site and then look at the previewed pages in Mozilla Firefox (http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/start/). You can then go to 'Tools | Javascript Console' to see exactly where the error is coming from.
