Linking Product Image to Advanced Link URL

When I click a product Image - I want to display the 'Advanced Link URL' instead of the Extended Info popup page.

What do I need to change to make this happen?

I'm aware that 'design text' 2175 is responsible for the popup - should I modify this to point to the Advanced link? If so, what Var can I use to make this dynamic?

    Cheers!

    Bill.

Sorry to come into this conversation with something totally different. What upsell software did you use on your site ?

          Hi,

rename the file from .txt to .html and place in your site1 folder. to use the template you will have to select it by browsing from the layout tab in the product.

When you have selected that as your template it will use the image as the link rather than the text in the simple link box, however you will need to put some text in that box so that Actinic lets you type in a url (remember to include the http://) It will not show the link text you type.

          Thanks

              Thanks Lee,

I already tried that from a previous thread/posting:

              NETQUOTEVAR:PRODUCTBEGINLINK NETQUOTEVAR:PRODUCTIMAGE NETQUOTEVAR:PRODUCTENDLINK

It just doesn't work for me! I'm using Actinic V7 what version are you on?

              Cheers,

              Bill.

only thing is you would not be able to show extended info, you would have to uncheck the image clickable option

                  That might be the prob
                  Many Thanks

The Image Clickable option is not availble anyway - as far as I can tell (from reading other posts) the Image Clickable is only availble for fragments and not products...

yes on the advanced link option, but on the extended info tab it can be set on image clickable, if it is and you insert that template it will not work as it will conflict, i notice on some of your products if you click the image it opens a popup window.

                      Thanks

Yes - I'm in the process of moving all the popups to 'real' pages so they appear in the site map and get indexed properly...

sorry my brain works faster than my fingers! My products are set so that my advanced link has the product url ie. xxx.html and runs through the cgi bin and rather than text i insert something like <img src="more.gif" border=0 ALT="Click Here For More Info"></a> to give me a button.

Then in simple link i place the entire url of the product, this then allows two entries to the page, as SE dont like links vi the cgi bin the image gives them a hard coded link to follow instead.

One tip if you have a number of products on the same page (within the same section) in the simple link text section on each product make the text specific to that product I just use A, B, C etc as for some reason if you dont th SE doesnt see the links very well - not sure why but hey

                            Thanks
