    Discounting certain choices...

OK, so i have a product i want to sell. Options are:

Product "X" for front of car
Product "X" for rear of car
Product "X" for front and rear of car.

1 pack of product "X" is £70.00, but a double pack for front and rear is discounted to £130, saving £10.

I'd like the options as a radio or drop down box to make vit easy for customers to make the correct choice. I've messed aroround for ages with attributes and components but can't get it right. Grrrr!

    Hi There.

You will need to set up 3 products which are to hidden from overall view.
    You will need:
    1. Product X for front @ £70
    2. Product X for rear @ £70
    3. Product X for both @ £130.

Having created these ensure that your select the 'hide on website' option (general tab).

Then you need to create a new product, ensure you select 'sum of component prices' as the pricing model (general tab) and then add a component to it. Within this component an attribute. You can choose at this point whether you want a dropdown list or bullets etc. Then add 3 choices, each relating to the hidden products.
Once you have done this you can select the component and select the permutations tab. Click the fill list button and then go to the field marked 'product'.
For each line in the table you will need to associate one of your hidden products. You may also have to set the pricing tab to 'Component', but I can't remember. Try both and upload to check if things add up in the cart.

This will now change the price according to which option is chosen but will not display that price untill you add to cart.
To overcome this I would suggest that you name each choice with the price included. i.e:
    • Product X for Rear for £70
    • Product X for Front for £70
    • Product X for Font & Rear for £130 (Save £10)

    Hope that helps.

      Hi Peter,

In order to achieve what you are looking for, please try the steps below:

      1. Please create a Product, Component, Attribute and Choices similar to the attached picture (Image1.gif)

      2. Select the Component and go to Permutations tab and click 'Fill List' and enter the price for the Choices

      3. Now go to the Product, set the Pricing Model to 'Sum of Component Prices'

      4. Now if you upload your site, it would look something like (Image2.gif)

      Hope this helps
