Is there any way of having a 'other info' or Date info field attached to a product that does not require to be filled in?
I have looked in Design|Text, but cannot find it.

Yes there is a work-around to achieve this by entering a default value to the other info prompt.
For Example...
Go to 'Design | Text'
Click 'Go To' and in the ID field enter '2161'.
and you would see %s<INPUT TYPE=text NAME="%s" SIZE="%d" MAXLENGTH="%d" VALUE="%s" %s>
Edit this to read %s<INPUT TYPE=text NAME="%s" SIZE="%d" MAXLENGTH="%d" VALUE="Enter your Choice here"> and Actinic would take that text as the default. So now customers have the choice of replying to the prompt or leave it as it is and still add to cart.

Norman also has an excellent donationware patch over at www.drillpine.biz which allows for multiple other info prompts - the beauty is that you can specify if they are required or not ... plus you can have just the 1 prompt or as many as you require.
That patch is the best money I have ever spent on the internet.Comment
