Newbie Question About a Links Page

I am a complete newbie both to Actinic and search engines and am trying to get our site showing in Google's search results for the keywords I am interested in. Our web design company provided some marketing via a third party keywords site which has since been shut down and left us with no real presence on the search engines except by paying for Google Adwords

I have searched through these forums and done as many as I could of the things people suggested, such as improving product page content, meta descriptions and meta keywords, having a site map and linking to it from the ActBrochurePrimary and ActPrimary templates. But I still don't seem to get anywhere.

One thing we have not yet tried is setting up incoming/reciprocal links with other relevant sites so that is what I will try next. But I have a couple of questions:
    1) Where within Actinic should I create my links page? Is there a specific template?
    2) How do I go about efficiently creating this page and adding links to it once I have them? Please bear in mind I am not experienced with Actinic or web coding!
    3) Does anyone have any suggestions for how I can find and target relevant companies to set up reciprocal links. We sell sterling silver handmade jewellery: www.corazonlatino.com

Any advice about setting up a links page and generally improving our place in search results would be massively appreciated.

    Thanks
    Claire

At first glance your page titles could be a lot better.

I'd also make the logo on the top left `clickable`.

    Cracking pictures though

I really like this site. Help page is really good, lots of info, well laid out, etc.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will go off and work on the page titles now and see if I can work out how to make the logo clickable.

Glad you like the site though - that's encouraging!

There is a school of thought that suggests `resources` is a better title for a links page. Might fit in better with the image your site seems to generate. I'm thinking of changing the FH links page to this. Oh, and keep the links to good sites, not just anyone.

        In my opinion only mind.

I'd also give the logo a title which you can see when clicking over.

          For links pages checkout http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=17765

A common trick is to embedd the HTML link into the text field of a fragment of a product description field eg:

          Code:
          !!<<a href="http://www.site.com" target="_blank">Link to funky site</a>>!!
