Displaying Customvar's in a search

I realise this has been covered before and I think I've read all the posts, BUT...

I want to display customvar data on a results page which is additional to the customvar that has just been searched on. If Actinic can access the date for searching and displaying a customervar in a search, why can it not display other customvars from the same product, as I would assume they all reside in the same database?

Is it possible to edit a script or a template?

Sorry for going over old ground if there is no way to do it, but it just seems that it should be possible.

This would need custom Perl patching of the Search scripts. There's no simple template tweak that would do this.
