excluding few goods from overseas shipping

Hi everyone,
I have catalog V7 and sell baby / nursery products.
We are set up to send small packets (upto 2kg) from stock and larger items eg pushchairs, are dropshipped by the manufacturers to UK addresses only.
The problem is that I cannot stop an overseas customer from ordering these larger items.
My postage is set up so that orders of £30.00 or more is free.
Is there anyway I can stop these larger items from going through checkout if purchased by someone outside the UK?

Setup separate shipping tables for the other locations and have price bands only for the light items. Set excess to 'do not allow shipping'.

The customer will get a message asking them to contact you, but will not be able to process an order including the large items (this also means they cannot order the small items in the same order).

Or select shipping by weight and set the weight of 'lightweight' products to be equal to their value and heavy ones to be 10,000kg.

Your shipping table would then be:

UK:

up to 30.00kg - whatever you charge.
excess weight - Free

Overseas:

whatever you want for overseas.
don't allow excess.

Setting the weight=value for each product is a bit of a pain but can be done automatically using access.
