Free Product Nightmare!

I am trying to add a free product to a discount group. I have done this loads of times before, so I am not a total numpty! However, when i try to choose the product from the drop down list, it isn't there. I have tried:
1. checking the product is not already assigned to a product group
2. making a change to the product, then uploading

Any ideas?

Hi Holly,

I tried to recreate this issue on my default site.It works for me. Please follow the steps below:

1)Create a product (This will be the free gift).

2)Create a product group,add products to this group which will win a free gift.

3)Go to "View|Discount and Surcharge Settings|Cart Contents", create a new discount.

4)Choose the "Product Group" from the drop-down list under "Properties" for which the discounts will be applied.

5)Set the "Reward Type" to "% off extra product" and "Reward Amount" to 100.00

6)Choose the product radio-button and select the product from the drop-downlist.Click on "Apply".

7)Do an update of the site.

Make sure that the free product is not a member of another product group.
