    Sage customer matching

Having problems when order is transfered to sage and the customer already exists in Sage:

The order is coming in and creating a new account, rather than finding the existing customer.

I have 'Create new Sage customers from unregistered customer orders' checked.

According to the manual, this creates a new customer if the Postcode, Name or Email fields cannot be found in any existing Sage customers.

However, this isn't working - we've just had an order where the name and postcode matches, yet it has createe a new account.

    Could someone clarify whether:
    1. The postcode is case sensitive and has to have spaces in the right place
    2. Wheter it is the invoice or delivery address in Actinic that is matched
    3. only one field needs to match, or all three

    Many thanks

    Hi Martin,

Go to the "Customers" tab within Actinic Link Profile settings, uncheck both the options. If you do not select any option here then when an order is transferred from Actinic to Sage where the 'External Reference' field of the customer account in Actinic matches the 'A/C' field in Sage, then the invoice will be raised against the existing Sage customer. If, however, an order is transferred that Sage has no reference for then it will normally be assigned to a default 'Internet Shopper' customer.

      Hi Sumiya

      Thanks for the response

We don't have any customer accounts in Actinic, and the client wants every transaction to create a new customer in Sage (or match n existing one), so we are not using the default Internet Shopper, so unfortunately, this doesn't really solve the solution.

The key is making sure the order is matched to the coreect sage contact...

Incidently - a really useful feature would be if you could edit the order details in Actinic - eg add an external reference, or making sure postcodes match up etc to a non Actinic registered customer, before improrting into sage - this would solve alot of problems!!!

      Thanks

      Martin
