Error: Your shopping cart has expired

    Hi all

    Am getting this error

    A General Script Error Occurred

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Error: Your shopping cart has expired, orders must be completed within 3 hours or they will be automatically cancelled.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Press the Browser back button and try again or contact the site owner

    on our site www.bestpricefancydress.co.uk
but not on www.sureshotsfancydress.co.uk, or www.wonderlandparty.co.uk.

This only occured recently, this last week. Best Price and SureShots are using the same layout but different Perl script ID's, the SureShots one works fine but Best Price keeps coming up with this. They are hosted on the same servers held by One and One Internet.

I am at a loss as to how this can be happening on one of our sites that was working fine until we put this template in place, but as stated the template works fine on the other site.

The error occurs after choosing the country and stepping into the delivery details page. You cannot even cancel the order at this point.

I have updated the os000037.pl script from Actinic, uploaded and assigned the correct permissions.

    Anyone got any ideas?

The error occurs on this url:

    https://sslrelay.com/bestpricefancyd...in/os000037.pl

Which is where it bounces to ssl. Have you got SSL setup correctly on the site? It looks to me as if the cookie would be blocked because of the change of domain and this is why actinic is throwing up the error.

PS. On the other sites, it looks as if the ssl bounce is on the checkout button. Changing to this might fix things.

It is the SSL bounce. The problem was that we have 4 domains that we sell under, 2 on dedicated SSL certificates, 2 on shared. Pointing the dedicated through os000037.pl directly works fine, but on the shared you do need to reroute via the shared SSL domain to make it work.

Not so much a glitch or error rather an incongruity in working with shared hosted SSL certificates and building templates yourself for Actinic sites.

Perhaps others will see this and it may be of benefit to them too.

The key point is, if you are running on shared hosting and wish to build a site with your own template and/or Checkout button then build the site first and copy the link from the original site checkout link. Save this and then use it to link your own button once your design is finished.

      Easy when you know how

      Many thanks

        Hi,

We have just updated and upgraded client’s site and have encountered this problem for the first time. We do not have the option of creating the site without using a custom design (as this client is new to us and had an existing design)

The checkout button within Actinic works but our custom checkout button does not - unless you use the actinic button for your first order and keep the cookie.

As far as I was aware the URL to call the script is /cgi-bin/os000001.pl?ACTION=Start

Can anyone tell me the correct URL or how we can fix this?

It would help if you could give us a URL to look at - that way we could see whether there were any differences between the URL generated by Actinic and the URL used in your custom design.

If your custom design has been applied to an overall layout (primary) template then you could use the NETQUOTEVAR:NAVBCHECKOUTLINK variable for linking to the checkout.
