    Best Seller Button

    Hi,

I use the V7 best seller template (for an easy life!).

It,s catalogue section has a mainpages section at the L/H bottom of the page.

In the mainpages section are buttons for home, client, login, upalevel and storetop. These cannot be seen unless you scroll down and so...

...I want to move those buttons to top of the page i.e to the place where the email, terms & index buttons are, so that they can be seen.

I have tried moving the Netquotevars in Act_Primary, but things do not display properly in the table. I did notice that the image sizes of buttons that I want to move are a slightly different different size and I could edit them and make same.

Can anyone put me straight on what to do or where to look to find what to do (especialy relating to table as I am unsure how many buttons will actually fit in the table row).

    kind regards

    Rob

I've been hoping you'd get a reply too. My content tree is very long and requires a scroll to get to the other buttons after leaving the home page.

Anyone not using the same theme would need to see your website to comprehend fully what you are talking about. The alternative is one of the developers with enough time to create a new site using that theme and investigate.

Funny you should say that as I was hoping too!
Is anybody else hoping, as we could start an >>>Actinic Hoping Club<<<.
I am sure that there would be many members.

No fear of laughter - except at the irony that after 30 years in the Warehousing industry I am now looking at pallet racking on a website instead of a jobsite.

Try adding this file to your site1 folder and changing the extension from .txt to .html, then select as the overall layout for one of your section pages to see if I got it right.

Easiest way is to navigate to the file in Windows Explorer (Start | Explore) and right click the file. Choose Rename, press either left or right arrow key, then delete the txt part and type in the html.

                    Hi,

Managed to do it on a trial site on my home computer.

The trouble is that the buttons go where they should but because of their width they stretch the page and the buttons already at the top area and different design and size to those that I want to move.

My problem is that if I make the buttons that I want to move the same size as the buttons where I am moving them to, some of the buttons I am moving are the same images (therefore shared) and design as on my home page so they won't then display right on my home page.

I can also make my buttons smaller to fit in the place where I want to move them, but I am not sure what the width of the cell is is so cannot be sure what size I need to make them.

                    Thanks for your help

                        Hi,
Any idea how up to 7 buttons 168 wide will fit in the space.

Any idea what to do about the shared buttons.

                        Regards

Personally, I would ditch the buttons and just hand code the links into a table cell using the same background colour.

                            Thats the best idea I I shall do...Thanks !!!!

Last question is how wide is the table cell as I need to put 7 links in and I am not sure what width they shoukld be as the table width is 100% (but 100% of what).

                            Regards

100% of the width of the Browser page, or of the area within that page you have restricted your content to. Easy answer - set the widths as % 100/7=14%, but that will render slowly, and on a high resolution will result in widely spaced links.

Possibly better to write down the link text you will use and find the longest visible text. Count the letters and internal spaces then add the number of left and right spaces you want (plus any divider like |). Set the cell width at the final result in ems - e.g. 16em.
