Actinic freezes when switching from one site to another

Hi, I'm new to this forum and I was wondering if anyone could help me.

I have 2 sites that I recently upgraded form V6 to V7.

Ever since I upgraded I have been experiencing a recurring problem.

When I switch from one site to another other the , Actinic minimises itself and freezes.

I am unable to continue using it. So I have to ctrl-alt-delete to close it down

when I restart Actinic the site I was wanting to switch to is now the 'live' site.

When I upgraded from V6 to V7 I also installed Actinic Link.

I have also installed Sage Line 50 V8.

I have sent snapshots of both sites to tech support and they can't find anything wrong. so it suggests it's possibly a system/Windows problem rather than an Actinic one.

Any suggestions on how to remedy this problem gratefully received.

Hi Maria,

Check your backup options (housekeeping / backup / shutdown backup options), if you are backing up on shutdown, switch this option off and then try to change sites. If this works keep it switched off and back your site up manually at regular intervals instead or double check your backup directory to make sure that it is valid.

Also as you have been using task manager to kill the program you should compact the databases on both of your sites.

I thought it worked, but it didn't

Thanks Jan. I turned backUp off and it worked! But when I turned my computer on this morning it started doing it all over again. I just can't work it out - even tech support at this stage is baffled.

Did you turn backup off for all sites?

Freezing in between switching sites

Yes, I turned both backup option off on both sites.

Maria,

You have this issue with support at the moment and we have development looking into it. Guess it would be better to continue it via email, but please do post the fix here so that other users could benefit from it.
