First time posting website problems

Hi,
I've followed the wizard in actinic to upload my website and after the Directories screen I get the following error

An error occurred while sending an HTTP request to the webserver. Perhaps your network is down or the webserver is down. Try again or contact your network administrator or ISP to correct the situation.

I'm using clook at my host. Can anyone shed any light?

Selecting passive ftp helped me with this problem. I think its on the 3rd page of network settings wizard.

How long has your site name been active on the clook server? If the DNS entries have not had time to propagate across the web, then that might cause a connection problem.

Try opening a command window (what we used to call DOS) and type nslookup www.yourdomainname.co.uk - if it does not resolve to a number like 212.212.21.23 then this is the problem.

You are putting your domain name and not clook's into the settings aren't you?

I double checked and i'd already selected passive ftp.

Tried this and got a number on the address line. I guess this part is ok then.

erm...I feel silly saying this but I'm not sure. I put in an address
ftp.oneshoelane.co.uk (www.oneshoelane.co.uk is my domain name)

OK - using the wizard, you put that ftp address in the first page along with the username and password. On the next page you need http://www.one shoelane.co.uk (I put the space in so that I did not create a link to your site - you would not have this space in your entry).

now though its asking me for CGI Script ID - what should i put?

what ever you want really, id stick to a number between 1 and 9.

Its to differenciate between multiple sites running on one server, so if you want to run another one from the same place, choose a different number when you set that up.
