Actinic trial site trouble

I'm have a few difficulties with posting a new site onto the actinic trial site.
Firstly, after following the instructions for altering the setting in Network Setup, the cgi-bin and codebase urls are pointing to trials2.actinic.com! On starting Refresh Website it complains that the server is invalid. So I change those to trials.actinic.com.

Secondly, during Refresh Website - Check & Send Files I get ticks for everything down to Sending base files... Then a message that Microsoft would be proud of:- "The parameter is incorrect."

I've tried compacting, purging, and screaming at the cat...

Can anyone point me in the right direction?
