    snapshot errors

there are 6 errors in my snapshot, they are all missing images from old incarnations of the site, they serve no purpose now,
firstly and most importantly could this cause a problem when it may be neccasary to use the snapshot,
and where should i start to get the errors removed from snapshot summary.
    errors listed below.

If Actinic can not find the file specified it is likely you have deleted, moved or renamed the image but still have it showing as a product image, section image etc. If your images are numbered with some degree of organisation you should be able to workout where they are being used and delete or alter the reference accordingly.

May be worth going the whole hog and doing delete - purge contents - and compact databases. Could be a lot of database space recovered in a situation like this.

Under Housekeeping in the Actinic menu there is and option Compact databases. You have a choice of Catalog, Shipping or both depending on which boxes you fill. It is probably a good idea to always do both. Actinic will close while the databases are compacted and you will have to reopen it.

Basically Access, especially the older versions, tends to leave the space inside the files that was occupied by items you have since deleted, and that space remains inside your file until you run the compact option. This has two effects on the local PC. The file takes up a lot more space than it needs to, and file operations are slower because the blank space has to be read past in any sequential file operations.

It is unlikely, unless you have a really extreme case of file bloat, that there would be an effect on upload speed (apart from the slowdown of the data read from the files - usually measured in milliseconds), and there should be no effect on the server unless a read error results in bad data making its way into a file.

I personally run a compact operation after every major alteration to the site files.
