Different order number squences for different sites

I want to be able to identify which site my orders came from by giving them a different order number sequence.

I've read this on the Frequently Asked Questions but dont understand how you change the script id number.

The last digit of the ID is used to form part of the order number.

Example order number for site with script ID of 31 would be TTTEST10000099
Example order number for site with script ID of 32 would be TTTEST20000099

Using this technique they can have up to 10 (0-9) sites importing to a single accounts package with unique order numbers.

    Can anyone help.

It would help if you explain

want to be able to identify which site my orders came from by giving them a different order number sequence
In what program do you want to do this?

I've read this on the Frequently Asked Questions but dont understand how you change the script id number
Could you tell us what it is you've read and exactly where?

If you simply want to have a unique order number range for a particular site look in Actinic / Help / Troubleshooting / Order Number

Also look in View / Business Settings / Order Processing where these are similar settings that apply to offline orders to allow you to distinguish these from online ones.

      Changing Script ID

      Hi,

      Sorry for not explaining myself.

If I were to run say 2 sites I want to be able to identify which site the orders originated from.

Apparently you can change the script id to reflect different site numbers.

IE The first 2 characters of on order number are the customers initials
      The next 4 their postcode
Then the 7 character is the script id.

I aquired my information from Actinics FAQ section of their website.

If I could start one websites account numbers as:

AAAAAA1000000 to reflect one site and
AAAAAA2000000 to reflect the other sites order numbers.

The FAQ site says you can do this by ammending the script ID.

My question is, where do I ammend the script ID.

      Cheers

      Jo

The script ID number is not related to any order ID. The script ID is used for generating the perl script which actually operate parts of the software on your site server.

        ie http://www.music-man.co.uk/cgi-bin/s...NID=index.html

The script number is set at 000001 for this site in the network setup pages.

As for the order number you wish to change (on the actual order received) I believe Actinic generates this number automatically. Maybe Norman can do a patch for you ???

Jo, you are right. The order number (as explained in this link http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=4741) does use the script ID as the first numerical digit.

You can change this on the network setup page (CGI script ID number).
