    Secure Trading & callbackurl

I've got a site in development using Secure Trading as a PSP. The ST side of things is currently running in test mode.

There seems to be a problem putting through successful test transactions using shared SSL and I wondered if anyone else had seen this. I'm using the shared SSL available through Donhost.

If I switch off SSL I don't seem to have a delay with the payment test, but I don't want to leave the site like this as the absence of the padlock may be a problem for some customers.

The guys at ST have said that there's a problem with the callbackurl variable and have asked me to make sure it's set properly. I found some info that describes this as something used by the PSP process to talk back to the shop server to say that the transaction was successful. Does anyone know what this is in Actinic Catalog terms?

    Thanks,

    Alan

    Alan,

It is general practice not to use SSL when you are using a PSP, the reason being that the person is being transferred to a secure server where they enter their credit card details and get back to the site, and this is a secure process. if you would like to use SSL one of the issues is going to be the call back from the PSP server and you will have orders going into pending althoughthe payment has been received by the PSP and people not seeing the receipt and such. The shopper will see the padlock on the PSP site and you can mention it on the bounce page that they ae being transfered to a secure site to enter their card details.
