    Fatal Error on import

    Hi,

I am getting the following error when importing a site snapshot. Can anyone advise on what the problem is and how to solve it?

    ---

    FATAL ERRORS
(File ExportFiles.cpp, Line 301) - Archive error 13 - Extract selected files call failed
Library error - Error creating file D:\Program Files\Actinic v7\Sites\Site1\CommonOCC\Thumbs.db ! has been caught.

    ---

    Thanks.

I actually get 2 Fatal Errors, the second is as follows:

(File ImportBackup.cpp, Line 316) - Archive error 5 - The compression operation failed
Library error - Can not open file D:\Program Files\Actinic v7\Sites\Site1\ActinicCatalog.ldb ! has been caught.

A quick search for "has been caught" will turn up a few things to try.

A quick search for "has been caught" turned up absolutely nothing relevent - I had already tried this.

However, I have now solved this problem. There was no instance of Thumbs.db in the Actinic folder on the computer creating the Site Snapshot. However, there was an instance of it in the Actinic folder on the computer the Site Snapshot was being imported in to. Once this was deleted, the Site Snapshot imported successfully.

To prevent this from happening in future - turn off Thumbnail view in Windows Explorer to prevent the Thumbs.db file from being generated. Also, put a tick in "Do Not Cache Thumbnails" in Control Panel -> Folder Options -> View tab.

That would then lose the functinality of the thumbnail preview which for some users is a useful feature.

Would it be easier to simply open the folder with no file and do a thumbnail preview under windows explorer to sync the 2 snapshots? .... don't think the 2 files need to be the same just an instance of the specific file in question.
