    Mick,

I would suggest you go back and edit post #13 to remove the address - just in case it gets trawled.

    Good luck with the host.

Thanks to the above information from Olderscot and Norman we seem to be getting somewhere.

I contacted support and they said that some Perl Scripts were disabled sometime during January, which ties in with the start of the problem.

I now need to contact the hosting bods and let them know which Perl Scripts need re-enabling and also send them a copy of the error log(s) to help them solve the problem.

So, where do I access the logs and which Perl Scripts do I need to run the mail?

The error log is here http://www.jackfish.net/acatalog/error.err

I'm not sure which script you need for email, but surely the best bet is for them to enable all of them?

Is there an easy way to list the Perl files in the Site 1 directory? Other than by individually typing them into an e-mail, or should the ISP be able to identify them without me listing them.

Many time Norman Rouxel has said
            Actinic.pm contains the e-mail routines.

Actinic seems to be working OK. It's your SMTP server (at Zen) that's giving the
Internal Errors = Error returned from SMTP server (1: Open Relay scanner. Please contact Support for assistance.
              )
error. And that "Support" is at Zen.

Look in your error log (as Bill mentioned) and you can see the exact date and time this started (perhaps some hours earlier as the error would only be logged when Actinic tried to send a mail).

Hopefully the problem has now been resolved. The answer from the ISP is below.

This issue was due to this server being falsely identified as an open relay.
A big thank you to all who helped me identify the cause and for bearing with a 'dimwit' when it comes to anything 'under the hood' computer related.

My gratitute is unlimited, well almost.

                    Thanks again.
