picture in custom properties - very basic question??

Hi there everyone, please excuse my stupidness but i am really stuck here, I have hardly any knowledge of HTML and I am very new to actinic, (in fact I only have the trial version at the moment!) but would really like to know how you put a picture in the custom properties field, I am using the smart template and would like to put a picture underneath the text in the custom properties box on the left hand side. Hope this makes sense! I apologise for this being a basic question but I am new to this!!
