    Programme Not Responding

Just got Actinic loaded on my PC and I can't upload to server.

When I click on the Update button, it goes through the motions until it gets to a file called bb900001.pl. Programme then just sits there for ages (evermore). I then try to quit but get the 'Programme Not Responding' message. I think there is something going on with my FTP capabilities (?) I am running Norton AV 2006 (turned off for the moment).

In addition... in my frustration, I clicked on 'Test Mode' under the Web menu. It now says it's in Test Mode after evry reboot. When I try to return to Production Mode it says it wants to delete the test web site?? and gives me an option of 'continue' or 'cancel'. When I click on continue, it just sits there until I try to quit. I then get the 'Programme Not Responding' message again.

This is my first experience of Actinc V7 Business. I've had this loaded up for half a day and have now got stuck with the prospect of a wasted weekend ahead of me. Aaaagh.

    Can anyone help please?

    Thank you

Since you are trying to delete something that you tell us does not exist, try clicking cancel.

Then follow the instructions for uploading your website. Once you have a successful connection to your webspace and have uploaded a test site, you can let Actinic delete it and upload to real webspace.

Thanks Bill. On the Networks menu, there is a test FTP button. When I click on it, my HD is active for a few seconds and then everything just sits there until I cancel, which it won't do, so... I then quit and I get the 'Programme Not Responding' message again.

Did you read the 'Putting the store online' chapter from Help | Help Topics and have you been through all the steps?

If no, that's a good starting point.

If yes, who is your webhost as that can have conmsiderable bearing, and are you on Windows or Linux hosting?
