Prices & Permutations in wrong place?

Can someone possibly help with my problem.

I have a drop down list of choices and prices, however when the site is live and an item is 'added to cart' it doesn't register.

    My Component details are as follows;

    General tab (Aberdeen Classic Black)

    Prices tab (nothing in here)

Permutations tab (a list of items with prices (as in drop down menu))

I think I may have entered the prices in the wrong place?

This is where the problem is; http://www.squidsin.co.uk/acatalog/hooks.html

    Thanks - Nigel.

Have you set the pricing model to 'Sum of product and components prices'?

Yes Bill, tried setting to the above - then there is no 'add to cart' facility. I cant really price each option as a seperate product because there are just too many....but there again

I'm wondering if I've done this completely wrong?

        First I created a Section.

Then a Product No price inserted as all options are different

Followed by a Component Aberdeen Classic Black in component name. Whats the Quantity Used for? Nothing in Prices. And in Permutations is everything in the drop down list.

And finally the Attribute to which there is a list of 30 odd items at different prices.

The site is in 'Suspended' mode at present, but when I put it on 'Allowed' and run a test purchase anything in a drop down list does not register on checkout. All other individual products work fine.

        Nigel.

          Section

          contains Product

Product has component - qty used = how many are needed for each one of the main product (8 screws, 1 shelf, 2 mounting brackets)

Component has attribute (colour - 8 choices)
Component has 2nd attribute (large, small)

Select component, permutations tab. Fill permutations button. Table is created with small colour1, large colour1, small colour2, large colour2 etc.

Tab right to prices column - fill it in, 3.99, 4.99, 3.99, 4.99 etc

Back to main product - tick box 'Component on separate order line'.

That was the problem, boxes now ticked and all is well. Thanks (again) Bill.
