Hi All
I am just setting up my first Actinic site and have found alot of your threads extremely useful up until now and have hit a brick wall!!
I am selling clothing items with multiple options in size and colour so I have set up the main product with the options then added hidden products for each option and associated the choice with that hidden product.
All was going well, but then I noticed that the shopping cart and subsequent e-mails and invoices all have two lines each with the quantity for that product. This looked confusing, as a customer could think they were ordering the same product twice. Is there a way around this by altering the perl templates somewhere or even just making the secondline quantity a different font colour thereby hiding it?
I then noticed that this second line appears in the invoices sent to customers, again very confusing for the customer. But I guess this would need to be edited with crystal reports, which I am not going to buy at ~£400. Actinic can't you choose a different format for the reports, so that us poor people stand some chance of editing them???
I have now come to the next problem related with this doubling of the quantity. On exporting the orders to Quickbooks I noticed in the IIF file that it has 2 lines for each product each one with the quantity in so it would therefore take double the amount of stock out of Quickbooks??
As an additional query to do with the quickbooks link - I have named all my hidden products in actinic in the short description the same numerical item number as I am using in Quickbooks. However, I noticed that the IIF file is using the Actinic reference number for the product not my reference. I have tried to alter the Actinic product reference but this seems to be fixed by the software.
So would this mean that I would have to create a translation table in the actinic link to quickbooks for all my products even though I have used the correct reference in the short description???
Thanks in advance
