Its all gone pear shaped, hard disc problems ?

Hello Folks, I recently installed a new hard disc ( new drive C ) into my pc as the one in use had become very troublesome, I reinstalled developer and then loaded a snapshot of the site from my old drive C ( now drive E ).

After a week All seemed to be working ticketyboo but today when I tried to upload a few changes it was all gong well until it got to the merge part, I received the folowing message.

"an error occurred while trying to send the merge request"

When I go to our site ( www.sovietsub.co.uk) and click the links to product sections or buy now I get the following message

    Not Found
The requested URL /cgi-bin/ss000567.pl was not found on this server.

    Apache/1.3.33 Server at www.sovietsub.co.uk Port 80

I have noticed that since changing the hard drive when I fire up Actinic I get the following error message

Unable to open the registry key “software\actinic\catolog6\sites\skinproducts”. The system cannot find the file specified

but if I click OK it goes away and the program opens

I looked at the diagnostics and a part of it said

    C:\Program Files\Actinic Ecommerce v6\Catalog.exe: 6778950 bytes 18/12/2003 18:37:06
    Version: 6.1.4.0.0.0 DNNA
    C:\Program Files\Actinic Ecommerce v6\OCCControl.ocx: !!!not found
    C:\Program Files\Actinic Ecommerce v6\DHOCCControl.ocx: !!!not found
    C:\Program Files\Actinic Ecommerce v6\AuthNetOCX.ocx: !!!not found
    C:\Program Files\Actinic Ecommerce v6\WUPayCash.ocx: !!!not found

this is just a sample of the !!!not found messages.

So my question is can anyone help explain to me what I have done wrong, do I need to reload actinic or the site snap shot or is it directly related to me switching to a new hard drive

Any assistance would be welcomed as I am becoming a little confused

    regards

Did you have more than one Site on your old installation. That first error message implies that you had a Site called skinproducts.

If you installed a fresh Actinic it's very likely that you imported your Snapshot into Site1, not skinproducts.

I'm not too familiar with the missing .ocx files but they look like you've not installed all the Payment Service Providers which is a separate step in the V6 installation.

Hi Norman and thanks for the reply, my site is named skinproducts on actinic ( should have been named sovietsub like the actual website to avoid confusion! ) and that is the one I opened on my new hard disc ?.

Should I have created a site on my new disc called skinproducts then imported the snapshot with the same name ?

I tried an off line preview and that did not work correctly because actinic was looking for the photos in my new c drive whilst the photos are on the old c drive which is now E.

I copied the photos using the same path into my new c drive and that seems to have cured that problem , I am now able to have an offline preview that works fine when I click on each product section and enlarge images etc.

I tested the network settings and they also work fine

However when I tried to upload the site it still stalls at the merge part and the website gives the following message when I try to click the product sections

        Not Found
The requested URL /cgi-bin/ss000567.pl was not found on this server.

        Apache/1.3.33 Server at www.sovietsub.co.uk Port 80

Anyone with any helpful suggestions would be most welcome

        thanks

          Hi John,

Have you tried Web|Refresh Website? If you have already tried follow the steps below to do a manual purge and refresh

          1. Manually FTP to your server

          2. Delete all the .pl and .pm files within your /cgi-bin/ folder

          3. Delete all the .cat within your /acatalog/ folder

          4. Within your local PC, please go to 'C:\Program Files\Actinic ECommerce v6\Sites\Site1'

          5. Delete all the .pl and .pm and .cat files here as well

          6. Go to the folder 'C:\Program Files\Actinic ECommerce v6\Original' and copy the .pl and .pm and paste them back into your Site1 folder

Now do a complete refresh of the site .

Actinic is not able to provide any detailed support for script changes made. If you find that there is a problem, an original copy of the script can be found within the 'Original' folder in your installation. Copy this into your site folder.
